On 4/11/09 The Rockland Fire Department responded to 873 Union St for a reported structure fire. First due companies had heavy smoke showing from a 1.5 sty wood frame structure with multiple additions to the structure. A second alarm was struck on arrival and 2 ladder pipes went into operation with a deck gun and several hand lines. Heavy smoke and fire conditions consumed the building in a very short period of time. Multiple towns went mutual aid into the fire. A 3rd alarm was struck about a 45 minutes into the incident.
