On 4/30/09 The Abington Fire Department started receiving calls for a building fire at 299 North Ave. Abington Car 2 arrived with heavy smoke showing from a 2.5 sty wood frame dwelling approximately 20x35 feet. Companies reported fire in the basement extending up to floor 1. A working fire was assigned and later a 2nd alarm was struck. 3 lines were operating o/s. Fire was knocked down after extending to floors 1&2 as well as the attic. Mutual aid from Rockland, Abington, Holbrook and Brockton all responded to the scene as well as EMS from Norwell and Rockland. All photos by Eric Hoffman
